A Canarybird for a Canarygirl!

Hello everyone! :)   I have a new addition to the canaryfamily to announce…we have a new Canary, named “Sesame!” :)   He’s such a cute little guy…yellow, grey and white with a voice like Frank Sinatra. LOL  He especially loves the spin cycle on the washing machine (he lives in our patio/laundry room off of the kitchen).  Ahem….I don’t know who he takes after with that spin cycle thing.  Certainly not Dalí, the gigantic Belgian Shepherd who is terrified of the patio/laundry room area. lmao

So, please, join me in welcoming Sesame to the canary house.  Which now has an actual Canary. :D

  1. great colors! whatever you do, don’t feed him Chef Boyardee, just trust me on this.

  2. Hi Van! ‘Sup? Dammit! Now I have to take back all those cans of Ravioli I bought for him. lmfao

  3. Aw, he’s beautiful! :)

  4. Woo hoo…he’ll drive ya nuts in a good way (singing).

I have cockatiels so you’re in good company. Resist the temptation to get him a mate as once they are paired, the male will no longer sing.

  5. I love Sesame! He’s adorable! My birds like the sound of water running, or the dogs barking, lmbo.

  6. loooook how adorable!

  7. Pretty! I love his colors…

  8. Welcome Sesame :D

  9. Pretty boy!

  10. Thanks everyone! He really is a little sweetie. :D

  11. My father raised canaries… It took me years to not hear them singing when I vaccuumed- even though I didn’t have one. Now I raise them…so I hear them all the time.

  12. Isn’t it cute how they like certain sounds like that? Sesame loves the washer, dryer, dishwasher and shower (the bathroom window is next to the patio)…and yesterday he was rockin out to the Dixie Chicks. lmao You raise them? How cool is that??? So far, Sesame likes apples and lettuce best as far as produce goes. We’ve been giving him little bits of things to try.

  13. Broccoli, they love broccoli. And Kale, melon, -just a bit- even the end of the piece of orange that your kids have sucked all the juice out of… a hard boiled egg thrown in your food processor, shell and all, just a bit a day. I make a concoction of toasted bread, egg, broccoli, carrot peels, sesame seeds, oatmeal, and cornmeal all tossed in the food processor and then frozen a little bit every day.

  14. Thanks so much for the tips!!! I gave him a bit of broccoli today, and he did love it! :D I have to do the hardboiled egg…I’ve been reading that they not only love it, but it’s good for their calcium intake as well. I like your idea of making up portions and freezing them. :)

  15. So I’m guessing when you feed him, it’s all “open, sesame”!. lol. He’s quite cute.

  16. Hee! Totally. He’s so sweet! We’re already planning on getting another to keep him company…now I need to think of a cute companion name. lol :)

Talk to me, baby!
